Garden
Six acres give Ralph and Joan plenty of room to experiment. Some gardens are enormous successes, while others are experimental plots. Mostly, we garden with perennials, but the urns and pots that adorn the wedding site are usually filled with bright, cheery annuals. There is also a vegetable garden, an herb garden and a cutting garden on the property.
The gardens are outdoor common areas. Guests are always welcome to stroll the property. Don’t miss the gardener’s cottage and attached greenhouse. Joan, a Master Gardener certified through the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, loves how gardeners are a wealth of information and always eager to share their knowledge. “I’ve learned more gardening tips from my guests,” she says, “than from any reference book.”
Joan became a Master Gardener in 2003 through the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.
